Favourite Squarespace Features

I wanted to share a quick OVERVIEW of some of the new features squarespace has added to it’s platform over the last year.

A lot has changed on Squarespace so I thought it might be time to share a roundup of some of my favorite changes with you.

Fluid engine

This is the new way to edit your website, previously you would need to use spacer blocks to build out your website but with the new fluid engine you can easily adjust the layout of your website by simply dragging and dropping elements. This creates a lot more design options when building your website.

Scale text

Scale Text is a feature that gives you more control over the size of text elements on your website. This feature is handy for responsive design and ensuring that your text looks great on all devices.

Text Highlights

This feature adds underlines, circles and more which can be animated to draw attention to specific words or phrases within your content. This feature is perfect for emphasizing key points, highlighting promotions, or simply adding visual interest to your text.

Text background

You can now easily add a background colour to text blocks which enhances readability and adds visual appeal.

Scrolling Block

The Scrolling Block feature adds an interactive element to your website by enabling you to create scrolling words across your screen. Great for drawing attention to promotions or other important information on your website.

Shape block

Squarespace's Shape Block is a versatile tool that allows you to add a variety of shapes to your website to create unique design elements. Shapes can be layered behind or infront of images and text to create more dynamic designs .

Image Block

The image block has had some new features added such as image effects, overlays and image shapes. Definitely worth having a play with some of the new features to add some interest to your images.

Section Dividers

Section Dividers enable you to create clear visual breaks between different sections of your webpage. These dividers help improve the overall flow and organization of your content.

Saved sections

The Saved Sections feature is definitely one of my favourite features. It allows you to save and reuse entire sections of your website across different pages. All you need to do is design and save a section using the heart icon and it will appear in your My Saved Sections when you add a new section to your website. Once added you will be able to change out the image and edit the text and colours.

I’ve been loving all the improvements Squarespace has been making lately and I’m excited to keep using these features in my Custom Designs. If you want to see how to use these features please watch the video.
